WHAT A RIP-OFF

WHAT A RIP-OFF

I was in Cairns last week to address the Chamber of Commerce luncheon, and was so touched by the number of people who came to me and told me how my books had changed their lives.  It’s the best motivation I could have to keep writing books.

But anyway, we hired a rental car and spent a couple of days at Palm Cove.  I noticed in the rental car office that there was a surcharge of $3 per litre for petrol if they had to fill the car up for you.  On our return to the airport to hand the car back, the petrol gauge seemed close to full and I wondered if it would be worthwhile even filling up the tank.  Luckily I did fill it up, because the car took 22 litres of petrol which would have cost me a whopping $66 in a surcharge if I hadn’t bothered.  Be warned.
