On Thursday 23 November I’ll be speaking at nabtrade’s borrowing to invest webinar.

At the event, I’ll be highlighting how longer life expectancies and high government debt have culminated into the ‘perfect storm’, the consequence of which is that the government has and will continue to be forced into cutting superannuation benefits and welfare payments. This means that Australians simply cannot rely on super (or the pension for that matter) for a comfortable retirement.

In order to create a secure financial future, I’ll be articulating the case for why Australians need to think about borrowing to invest. I’ll talk through the principles of responsible leverage as well comparing the pros and cons of borrowing for an investment property and shares, and highlight the emergence of ‘non-margin call’ equity loans.

This will be a great webinar as I’ll be joined by other experts who will have different views and areas of expertise including REA Group Chief Economist Nerida Conisbee and NAB Equity Lending Head of Sales Craig Saunders.

Click here to register. The webinar goes from 12pm-1.10pm (AEDT) – it’s free and I’d love you to attend! Even if you can’t make it, register anyway and you’ll get the replay via email.
