Possibly the biggest decision a person faces when it comes to retirement planning is: “Where will I live?” For many retirees the answer is a retirement community, where they can enjoy the facilities without the maintenance, socialise and have care on hand if needed. Retirement communities come in all different shapes and sizes, from ‘retirement resorts’ to ‘lifestyle villages’ to ‘supported living neighbourhoods’, and each has its own legal and financial arrangements.
Obviously the solution is to be as well informed as possible, which is why I am pleased to advertise an up-and-coming workshop at which Rachel Lane and myself will be the principal speakers.
This comprehensive workshop, which is aimed at advisers and accountants, will be held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, will enable you to:
Identify the different types of ownership models
Define the costs associated with different retirement communities
Assess the impact on pension entitlement, rent assistance and other government benefits
Determine the cost of a home care package
Calculate the outcomes associated with different strategies
The early bird rate of $387 has been extended to Sunday 21 February; after that the regular price is $493.
I look forward to seeing you there.
