Joint tenants

Joint tenants

“There is no wealth but life.” – John Ruskin

If you hold assets like property and shares as “joint tenants” with somebody else the asset will go to that person when you die even if your will instructs otherwise. That’s fine provided you are happy with this but if not, talk to your solicitor about changing over to tenants in common. Then your share of the asset will be distributed in terms of your will.
