Either you spend it or your kids do
“Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools.” – D.H Lawrence
Far too many people deprive themselves of life’s goodies because they have a fixation on leaving a large sum of money to their children. Just remember it’s a simple choice: either the kids spend the money or you do, and personally I don’t see the point of roughing it in two star accommodation so my kids can live it up at five star level. Anyway, with increasing life expectancies, most of today’s children are going to be at least 70 when their parents die. By this stage, they should be self-sufficient.
